Playing cards thrown on the ground, found in Jingdezhen (China)
Made in Jingdezhen
, 2016, 54 playing cards deck
Jingdezhen is a Chinese city that has for thousands of years been known for its ceramics. There, local craftsmen use playing cards as a tool to mix enamels and smooth clay. After using these, they get rid of the card by throwing it on the ground. During a stay in this city, I gathered a whole poker game set, picking up the playing cards I found on the ground along the way. This set has been reproduced in an edition of 50.
